HELP US RAISE FUNDS FOR THE ALI FORNEY CENTER!!
We just learned that The Ali Forney Drop-In Center was completely devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
The drop-in center was dedicated to Ali Forney’s most vulnerable youth, the thousands stranded on the streets without shelter, and was a place where they received food, showers, clothing, medical care, HIV testing and treatment, and mental health and substance abuse services. Basically a lifeline for LGBT kids whose lives are in danger.
Right now they do not have the space to accomodate donations of goods or volunteers, but the donation of money can greatly help them restore their services. Here are two ways to give:
2) Purchase Everyone Is Gay’s “Gayest Compilation Ever Made,” featuring songs by Ingrid Michaelson, Greg Laswell, Mike Doughty, Jenny Owen Youngs and more, for only $5 for the next two weeks. All the proceeds will go directly to The Ali Forney Center.

There is also an option to give more if you can!

You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit.
There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating: people who know absolutely everything, and people who know absolutely nothing.
But the life of man is a sorrow
And death a relief from pain,
For love only lasts till tomorrow
And life without love is vain.
I grew up in the 90s. We are the last generation who learned to play in the street, we are the first one who’ve played video games, and we’re the last ones to record songs off the radio on cassettes and we are the pioneers of Walkman and chat-rooms. We learned how to program the VCR before anyone else, play with Atari, Super Nintendo, & Genesis. We also believed that the internet would… be a free world. We are the generation of the Thunder Cats, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and Doogie Howser MD. Traveled in cars without seat belts or airbags, lived without mobile phones. We didn’t have +99 television stations, flat screens, surround sound, mp3, iPods, Facebook or Twitter but nevertheless we had a GREAT TIME! (Re-post if you’re one of us!) The Golden Years
saw this in FB, worth reposting it here. :D
